JavaCard Applet installation with CPR40.30-U r/w device and GPShell tool (Jun 28, 2010)

ID CPR40.30-U read/write reader device can be used for installing JavaCard Applets into Secure Element on a compatible NFC enabled mobile phone.

The compatibity is tested with ID CPR40.30-U device, GPShell 1.4.2 tool and Nokia 6212 Classic - SE Developer version using Windows Vista operating system. The test was done following Global Platform Card 2.1.1 specification.

The devices are available at ToP Tunniste On-line store. CPR40.30-U r/w device is included in ToP Encoder NFC v.2 tool and to Nokia 6212 Classic (NFC) Developer Toolbox, as well as sold separately. (Read more)

ToP Encoder NFC software update 1.01 (Jan 25, 2008)

ToP Encoder NFC software version 1.01 to is published. Updated version 1.01 is included in ToP Shop netstore shippings since January 25th 2008. 

The update relates to programming of Nokia 6131 NFC compatible text message tags (SMS shortcut). Version 1.01 solves problems with special letters (e.g. A with two dots and O with two dots) in SMS body or header.

Software version 1.01 is available for free to customers, that have purchased earlier version of ToP Encoder NFC. Please request update by contacting us using the support Contact form.

Trikker-1k tags' default keys (Jan 25, 2008)

Trikker-1k tags contain inlay by UPM RFID and NXP Mifare Classic (Standard) 1k chip. This tag type's memory allows to set individual access keys for each sector (a sector of of 4 blocks). There are KeyA and KeyB available for protection. Read more about default keys, tag memory protection and additional information sources.

ISO 14443 part 4 Demo (Sept 17, 2007)

This demo is intented to give an example of communication between Nokia 6131 NFC (SE Developer version) mobile phone and NFC Encoder RFId/NFC reader/writer device. Read more (requires login)

JavaCard Applet installation with NFC Encoder and JCOP (Sept 7, 2007)

NFC Encoder reader device can be used for installing JavaCard Applets into Secure Element on compatible NFC phone. The compatibity is tested with NFC Encoder reader device (NFCENC-USB-1.0.01), JCOP Tools and Nokia 6131 NFC - SE Developer version mobile phone using Windows Vista operating system. Read more (requires login).

Nokia 6131 NFC - Software update 5.11 (Aug 13, 2007)

Nokia 6131 NFC software can be updated to version 5.11. According to Forum Nokia the update is available in Nokia Service Points and customers can find the closest Service Point through Nokia web pages under local Get support and software pages.

Furthermore it seems that Nokia 6131 NFC software 5.11 will not be available through Nokia Software Updater.

Nokia recommeds to update the phone software to the latest version. In order to utilize Mifare Standard API this update is mandatory. Some features enabled with NFC SDK 1.1 require new phone software.

[Update Aug 22, 2007]: ToP Tunniste/ToP Shop netsore shipments of Nokia 6131 NFC include software 5.11 since Aug 22, 2007.

ISOStart - Reading Mifare 1k/4k tags (Aug 6, 2007)

The reading of Mifare 1k and Mifare 4k tags with ISOStart demo software requires autenthication for each sector. Tags with Mifare 1k chip are e.g. Trikker-1k CL42 and Trikker-1k CT50 tags as well as Trikker BC-1k cards. Read more.

Nokia 6131 NFC - SE Developer version - Autenthication issues (Aug 3, 2007)

WARNING: After 10 unsuccesful attempts to authenticate Secure Element it will be blocked permanently.  

Authentication process includes not only keys setting but right set of APDU's sent to Secure Element.

Product "Nokia 6131 NFC - SE Developer version" has limited warranty and support. This product is for experienced developers only.

Nokia 6131 NFC - SE Developer version's keys (July 21, 2007)

Nokia 6131 NFC SE Developer version will be delivered with unlocked Secure Element allowing JavaCard Applet installation.

To get the Setting keys in JCOP tools and MIFARE 4K keys browse to Login to downloads.

Using NFC Encoder with ISOStart (June 14, 2007)

ISOStart demo software is compatible with Windows. These instructions are provided to solve possible problems when initially connecting NFC Encoder reader/writer device with ISOStart. (Read more)

NFC Encoder firmware update - v. 2.03.01 (Jun 13, 2007)

ToP Tunniste has detected ISO 14443-4 protocol problems with NFC Encoder reader/writer when establishing communication between the reader device and  mobile phone (Nokia 6131 NFC). The detected problems can be solved by updating the NFC Encoder firmware to version 2.03.01. (Read more)
